What about wheeling systems? There seem to be hundreds of them on the market. Many have what they call "guaranteed" win values.  Are these legitimate?

If the wheeling system promoter tells you that their system is a different and fun way to play the lottery, it is probably legitimate.  If the system promoter tells you that their wheeling system will improve your odds of winning, it is not.  Many of these promoters are making lavish claims that hundreds of people have won jackpots using their "wheeling systems".  This just simply hasn't happened.  Unfortunately, they can say anything they want on the Internet because there are no enforced advertising standards.

A "wheel" (also known as a "box bet") is simply a combination bet that includes all possible combinations of a given set of numbers.  For example, in a lottery that requires a 6-number selection at $1 per ticket, you can "wheel" 7 numbers for $7.  You will have all possible 6-number combinations of those 7 numbers.  To wheel 8 numbers, you will have to pay $28 - there are 28 unique 6-number combinations within a group of 8 numbers.  Wheeling 9 numbers will cost you $84!

But the important thing to remember is that your 8 number wheel gives you precisely the same odds of winning anything as 28 randomly selected individual $1 bets.  THE LOTTERY MANUAL proves this in Chapter 9.  (See also the next question on "increasing your odds").

The "guarantee" that system sellers refer to usually goes something like this: "If the six numbers drawn by the lottery fall within the 8 numbers you have selected with our system, you will win."  Some guarantee - think about it - if the six numbers drawn by the lottery fall within any 8 numbers you select on your own, you will win.

People often write to us and ask, "But don't wheels give you a better chance at winning lower prizes?" This myth is flogged as a result of the "multiple win" effect of many wheels.  THE LOTTERY MANUAL will show you in a simple but elegant example, that this effect means you can win 4 times as many little prizes but only one quarter as frequently.  In other words the net improvement with a wheeling system is zero.

There is more on wheeling, limited wheeling and other systems in Chapter 9.  Make sure you read it before you buy any wheeling system.

Back to Question Index

What about other systems that claim to increase your "odds" of winning?

Let's use a 6/49 type of lottery as an example.  Your "odds" of winning the jackpot with a single ticket are approximately 14,000,000 to 1.  However, if you buy 2 tickets, your odds of winning the jackpot are 7,000,000 to 1 (you now have 2 chances in 14,000,000).  So we could offer you a "system" guaranteed to double your odds of winning.  It would be a short system - just buy 2 tickets instead of 1 and your odds of winning are doubled - guaranteed!

One wheeling system seller claims that if you wheel 7 numbers with their system, your odds will drop from 14,000,000 to 1 to less than 2,000,000 to 1. But remember - buy any 7 random tickets and your odds will also drop to less than 2,000,000 to 1!

Unfortunately, no system can get around this fact.  There is just simply no other way to improve the odds against matching the drawn numbers.

A vast majority of systems - whether wheeling systems, hot number systems, cold number systems, computer selection software or whatever they are - fail for the same reason.  They believe that mathematics can be applied to predict the outcome of a lottery drawing.

More often than not, they base their assumptions on what numbers have previously been drawn.  The "hot-number" theorists believe these more frequently drawn numbers will continue to be drawn while the "cold-number" theorists profess that certain numbers are "due" to come up.  Obviously, they both can't be right.  In fact, both are wrong.  Chapter 8 will show you the proof of this.

All these system hopefuls fail to understand that no mathematical set of calculations can ever predict what those little white balls popping mechanically out of a plastic bubble will do.

However - and this is a big however - what has never been done until the release of THE LOTTERY MANUAL is to apply sound mathematics to the bet management side of lottery playing.  While no system can alter the specific "odds" of any lottery, expected returns can be dramatically increased through the principles developed by LRC Research & Development Corporation for THE LOTTERY MANUAL.

Chapter 12 will explain all about expected returns and how you can manipulate them to your advantage but in a nutshell:

On average, most lotteries “return” about 45% to 50% of the money bet by players to the prize pool.  Unfortunately, the disproportionate percentage of virtually all lottery prize pools devoted to the jackpot or the major subsidiary prizes precludes the average player from ever reaching that 45% to 50% let alone exceeding it by winning a jackpot.  You would have to live to be several hundred years old to realize your normal "expected return." But through manipulation of betting relative to jackpot size and frequency (similar in concept to how Edwin O. Thorpe's blackjack bet manipulation techniques got him banned from Las Vegas casinos), THE LOTTERY MANUAL will show you how to increase your expected returns by more than 40% giving you a significant edge over almost all other lottery players.  Chapter 12 will prove this to you.

Furthermore, THE LOTTERY MANUAL will show you how to do this without increasing your current lottery budget.

All of this is in addition to the unique bet selection strategies offered in THE LOTTERY MANUAL.

With all the systems available over the Internet and elsewhere (selling for anywhere between $20 and $70), is The Lottery Manual another system that's just cheaper?

Definitely not.  THE LOTTERY MANUAL is an exclusive and thoroughly researched bet strategy and money management guide.  After reading THE LOTTERY MANUAL, you will be absolutely convinced that virtually all of these so-called systems are complete wastes of money.

You will also be 100% confident that THE LOTTERY MANUAL's unique strategies provide you with your best chances of winning more money playing any lottery draw whether you play in the United States, Canada, Great Britain, Australia or virtually any random number lottery draw worldwide.  That's why we're Number One.

Why was The Lottery Manual published?

Modern lotteries have been around for about 30 years, but in no other form of gambling is there so little information available on effective betting techniques.

If you play blackjack, for example, you can find a wealth of information on how to play your cards effectively, when to vary your bets, etc.  And there IS a right way to play.  It is based on sound mathematics initially developed by Edward O. Thorpe in 1962.  The same is true for craps, horseracing and most other methods of gambling whereby you can learn to bet intelligently and minimize the "house's" advantage.

Until THE LOTTERY MANUAL, however, no such legitimate strategy guide existed for lottery play.  Given that annual lottery sales in North America alone are in the order of 45 billion dollars, this is astounding.  This is important - No system, no book and no strategy can guarantee you a jackpot win.  However, just like blackjack, you can learn to play smarter, bet smarter and maximize your winnings when you do win - whether it is a jackpot or a major secondary prize.

LRC Research & Development Corporation began its research over 12 years ago, studying not just lottery results, but conducting a detailed analysis of how players bet, what affects winnings, how jackpots and subsidiary prizes are affected by each other and how strategies can be maximized to take advantage of varying pari-mutuel prize levels.

There are two principal components to playing lotteries - the numbers you select and the amount of money you bet.  Unfortunately, most of the "systems" believe there is a third component - the numbers drawn by the lottery corporations.  Obviously, we want to match those numbers - that's the point.  However, analyzing the numbers that have previously been drawn has absolutely no relevance to your play on the next draw.

When LRC began its research, lottery corporations tracked player selections; that is, the numbers and number combinations lottery players actually selected each draw (not just the numbers drawn).  The sheer volume of today's lottery sales has meant that this tracking is no longer done.  So the information gathered for THE LOTTERY MANUAL can never be developed by others - and it is critical information that will directly affect winnings.  The importance of this information to the numbers you select every draw - the first principal component - cannot be overstated.

The second principal component - the amount you bet - is of significant importance in pari-mutuel betting.  Where jackpots and the major secondary prizes are pari-mutuel (that is, based on the amount of money in the prize pool), the portion of your lottery budget allocated to each draw must vary if you are to improve your overall expected returns.  And this, not the past number drawings, is where the application of mathematical principles is crucial to your play.

Maximizing your play based on these two principles is essential to successful lottery play and that is what THE LOTTERY MANUAL will give you.

As Steve Nelson from San Jose, CA wrote to us, "With hundreds of books out there on blackjack, horseracing, etc., it's amazing that nobody ever analyzed the lotto business in the same way.  I'm a Vegas regular and I'd never go there and bet blind.  Thanks to you guys, there's finally a way to to bet intelligently on the lottery."

Are The Lottery Manual's strategies hard to follow?

Neither the bet strategies, including the 12 bet rules, nor the money management strategies are difficult to understand.  In fact, your personal Money Management Strategy will be printed in your Pocket Guide and will be at your fingertips when you make your bets.

However, if you are really serious about giving yourself the best opportunity of winning more money, minimizing your chances of sharing prizes, and maximizing your chances of winning a major jackpot or the pari-mutuel subsidiary prizes, you will have to make the effort to follow the unique strategies you will discover in THE LOTTERY MANUAL.  It means that, instead of simply buying a bunch of computer selected picks at your lottery retailer, you will have to spend a few minutes following the rules by carefully selecting your numbers and determining the size of your bet.  As with anything, success requires commitment!

Back to Question Index

How can I develop my own money management strategy if the lottery I play doesn't quite match one of those in your book?

No need to.  While there are over 200 individual Money Management Strategies for the most popular types of lotteries already included in THE LOTTERY MANUAL, as part of our customer support policy, we will develop one (maximum one custom strategy per customer) for you at no charge for up to one year from the date of your purchase.  Simply follow the instructions in the Customer Support section.  Once we receive your information, we will prepare a customized Money Management Guide along with your 3-3 Key.  It usually takes about 5 business days.

Recent Updates!

By popular customer demand, recent updates for the following lotteries are now included in all purchases:

  • California Super Lotto Plus
  • New York Lotto
  • UK National Lottery
  • Lotto Texas
  • Florida Lotto
  • Florida Mega Money
  • Pennsylvania Super 6
  • Mega Millions
  • Lotto Colorado
  • Illinois Lotto
  • Virginia Lotto South

Lotto Texas changed its format from 6/59 to a Powerball type with 5/44 draw and a 1/44 bonus ball draw.  The jackpot odds increased from 1 in 25.8 million to 1 in 47.7 million!  Lotto Texas explains that the overall odds of winning "any" prize improve from 1 in 71 to 1 in 57, thereby providing "up to 25 percent more overall winners."  The complete truth, however, is that increased jackpot sizes improve sales.  Other lotteries are likely to follow to the Powerball format.  The current Money Management Strategies for Lotto Texas are based on history since May of 2003 (when the new format came on line), Lotto Texas' own projections of jackpot payouts, and LRC's experience with similar lotteries.  The strategies will be fine-tuned as more history becomes available over the next year.

In addition, Powerball itself has changed its number selection from 5/49:1/42 and 5/53:1/42 to 5/55:1/42 (and with it the jackpot odds from 80,000,000 to 1 to over 146,000,000 to 1!).  The Powerball Money Management Tables in THE LOTTERY MANUAL have been modified to account for this change.

Is The Lottery Manual an eBook?

It's similar, but buying THE LOTTERY MANUAL is actually simpler than buying an eBook.  Here's why:

  • With an eBook, you need to download Acrobat eBook Reader© or Microsoft Reader©.  With THE LOTTERY MANUAL, you only need the standard Acrobat Reader©.  And it's free, of course.
  • Many publishers will not allow you to print an eBook.  With THE LOTTERY MANUAL, you may print a copy for your own use.  Like an eBook, however, you can also read it directly from the screen if you prefer.

And, like an eBook, there are no shipping or handling charges if you download the book, and you don't have to wait days or weeks for your book to arrive.

Can I find out more about the mathematical principles behind The Lottery Manual?

Yes.  the mathematical principles behind the bet selection and money management strategies are explained in simple terms only to provide a general background for the rules and strategies.  It isn't necessary to have any expertise in mathematics or statistics to use them effectively.

For those of you who want to know more, however, we can either answer specific questions or provide you with references to appropriate sites or other resources.  As an example, we often get asked for more information about "The Birthday Problem" as discussed in Chapter 9.

A number of websites advertise sales of lottery tickets for tax-free jurisdictions such as Canada and Germany. Are these legitimate?

The simple answer is NO.  Whether or not they are actually illegal depends on the local jurisdiction from where they are operated, but virtually all of them are pure scams.

In the first case, they are selling lottery tickets that are substantially inflated over the face cost of the ticket in those jurisdictions - sometimes overcharging you by 500% - (and re-selling of tickets is illegal in most of those jurisdictions).  Canadian police recently broke up such a scam operating out of the eastern part of the country.

Furthermore, you won't receive the actual tickets you are supposedly buying before the draw.  Most operators claim that they will send you a confirmation of your number selections, but not the actual ticket.  Who knows?  You might get some money if you won $10 or $20 but, without an actual ticket, are you likely to receive a $20,000,000 win?  For your information, there is no record of anyone EVER receiving a substantial lottery win through a third party purchase of lottery tickets over the Internet.

Moreover, while a lottery win is not taxable in Canada or Germany, if you live outside those countries, it is likely taxable where you live.

I purchased and downloaded The Lottery Manual but now I can't find it on my computer. What happened?

It happens to us all.  We saved the file to a folder location somewhere on our computer but we didn't make a note of which folder and now we can't remember the name of the file.

THE LOTTERY MANUAL is downloaded in a file called Lottery_Manual_R9.pdf.  You can do a search for this file in Windows Explorer by right-clicking on a drive letter (e.g. "C:") and then clicking "Search..."  In the box under "Search for files or folders named:" type in the above file name or simply type "L*.pdf" and all Adobe Acrobat files beginning with the letter "L" on that drive will be located.  Simply double click on this file and THE LOTTERY MANUAL will open.

(Note: Prior to May 28, 2003, the downloaded file was called TLM_DownloadR3.pdf.  Prior to June 5, 2002, the file was simply called TLM_Download.pdf.)
